TIPS FOR USING OUR AUGUST CONTENT CALENDAR IDEAS

Read on to get our top tips and trick to get the best results from your August Content Calendar:

  • Start by choosing the days or celebrations to work with your business and your audience. Think about what your ideal customer might find interesting outside of your usual content categories. They might love food but may also care for the environment and need to de-stress! Just because they like hearing about your cooking tips and restaurant guides doesn’t mean they don’t also love dogs or being inspired.  The unique and unusual holidays we’ve included in our August Content Calendar is just a catalyst to get creative. These types of posts show your human side. Think like a social media user rather than a marketer. Put yourself in your customer’s shoes and you will create more engaging posts.
  • There are loads of ideas, but the list is by no means exhaustive. The August Content Calendar is just your starting point. You can do your own research and add other holidays that work better for you.
  • Make sure that you double-check the entries. Team Easil spends hours researching, checking and rechecking these posts, but you should always check the holidays for yourself as dates may change, especially annually.
  • Include regional holidays. Most of these holidays are national and international, but talking about local events is a great way to build community.
  • Not all the holidays take place on the same day each year. For example, many celebrations take place on the 1st Saturday of August so the actual date will change year to year. If you spot an error please let us know so that we can fix it. We plan to update these posts annually with new dates for next year.
  • We don’t include all countries. Easil is based in Australia but the holidays in our August Content Calendar are from around the world and many in the United States. Your country may celebrate the same holiday on a different day.

Remember: You can use Easil to create images for your social media content. There are images and templates here in this August Content Calendar to get you going.

ADDING IMAGES TO YOUR AUGUST SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS

You can use our August Content Calendar in a few ways. You can start with an Easil template to edit and personalize it for your brand. Or, you can use your own images or assets to create something unique. How you illustrate the day is up to you. We are only giving you some suggestions to get you going.

HOT TIP: Why not post a quote that relates to the day in question? For example, National Book Lovers Day on the 9th of August is good day for literary quotes.

So, are you ready? Here’s our list of holidays for the month of August in date order:

Suppose I could program my computer to create a space in which everything could be linked to everything.”

Not everyone understood his vision. It took a further couple of years before the first web servers outside CERN were switched on. Early adopters were universities or laboratories. In 1993 CERN made the World Wide Web available on a royalty-free basis.

About a decade later most of the social media platforms that we use today were starting. The 1st of August is the day to celebrate the amazing invention of the World Wide Web. Easil couldn’t have existed without it!

INTERNATIONAL ORANGUTAN DAY

Critically endangered Orangutans can only be found in the wild in rainforests in Indonesia and Malaysia. The natural habitat of these great red apes is under threat. They are the largest tree climbing mammal. Because they only give birth at least five years apart and the young will stay with their mothers for the first 7-11 years, it makes them very vulnerable to excessive mortality.

There are cute images that you can download from the Orangutan Outreach website that you can use on social media, especially for Orangutan Day.

TAKE YOUR CAT TO THE VET DAY

Cats, do you wish they could talk? They’d probably mostly be pretty sassy. Unfortunately, cats do not communicate to us humans much verbally, nor are they likely to let you know with their behaviour or body language that they are unwell. Survival instincts dictate that most cats will act very tough even when they are in a lot of pain. Yearly vet appointments for worming, vaccinations, and a general check up will help keep your feline friend in top shape.
