You’ll find commercially licenced fonts at the start of our list, with some personal-use fonts at the end. They’re all below, including a quick overview of each font, how it is licenced (at the time of publishing this post) and what it’s perfect for. You’ll find plenty of fonts to crush on!
But first, a few tips for using these cool free fonts in your designs this year.
5 QUICK TIPS FOR USING THESE COOL FREE FONTS IN YOUR DESIGNS
Use these tips to make the most of this selection of cool free fonts for 2019:
- Find the perfect font to feature in your project. You’ll find commercial-use fonts at the start of the list and then some personal-use fonts at the end. Either way, if you scroll through the cool free fonts in this post, you’ll be sure to find something perfect for the job!
- Check the website for each font below – we’ve included links so you can explore each font a little more. You’ll see how the font is permitted to be used, including whether the font can be used on a personal or commercial basis.
- Download the font of your choice if you agree to the terms and conditions of use (again, it’s important to read any terms and conditions).
- Upload the font of your choice into Easil. Click on the Text tab and choose “Manage my Fonts”.

WOAH THERE, MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS FIRST
Before we get to the fun part, here’s some things you need to know. Although the majority of these cool free fonts are actually free for you to use for personal or commercial use, it’s vitally important that you check the licence agreement for any font you choose before downloading it.
Why? Because terms of use may change. So it’s always best to do a final check yourself before downloading a font. This way you are getting the most up-to-date information about your font of choice. We’d also recommend you copy or screenshot and save any licence agreements at the time that you download the font. Keep it handy in case you need to access it later.
It’s also a good time to give you a reminder about the term “royalty free”. When you see this term it’s important to understand that it means you can freely use the image without paying any extra royalties. It doesn’t mean there is no cost for a licence. You need to check that first – it may be that there is no cost or there could be a cost involved. Regardless, it’s always good (as we mentioned) to keep a copy of the licencing terms around the royalty free status.

Why we love it: Aloja font has been beautifully created by hand with a thin brush on acrylic paper. Why we love it: Creator Tinkov generously offers two weights of the stylish Qanelas Soft font here. Use it on anything from branding to signage – it’s perfectly proportioned for a variety of professional design styles.
24. ColorTube
Why we love it: ColorTube is Ivan from Neogrey’s first OTF font, and we just love it! Sadly you can only use it in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop cc 2018 if you want to get the full color benefits (or it reverts to a mono version). Get it here.

Why we love it: Oaf is a handcrafted script style of font which retains legibility and clarity, whilst bringing a unique edge to graphic projects. Lewis Wilson generously creates fonts for both personal and commercial use, and this one is a fave of ours. Download free, here.
26. Margot
Why we love it: Described by it’s creator Adrià Gómez as a vibrant and cheerful typeface that is perfect for editorial, posters and signage systems, and we agree. Margo looks great in large sizes as well as small, and features both upper and lower case characters, numbers and hundreds of glyphs. Get it here.

Why we love it: Inspired by Lobster font, Blenda is a bold vintage script font that works well on a wide variety of graphic design projects. Get it here.

LET’S GIVE SOME WELL-DESERVED KUDOS
We must give HUGE Kudos to the creators of the fonts in this post. Wouldn’t you agree, that they’re just stunning? It’s important to remember that creating fonts is no easy feat. You can’t just draw a few letters and expect to produce an attractive font set. It takes a lot of time and dedication, and a clever mix of creativity and attention to detail to pull off a beautiful font.
We’re talking dozens of letters, characters, variations, upper case, lower case, italics, bold … and so much more. So we take our hats off to the designers who took the time to create these beautiful fonts for us to use and share with you.
A FINAL REMINDER
We’ve included dozens of cool free fonts in this selection but we should state again that it’s important that you check the licence for each individual font at the time of downloading to get the most current terms of use. Licence agreements can change, so be sure to check each individual font for personal or commercial use restrictions.
